Learning languages as an adult is hard, so find a way to learn with others if you possibly can. So while all Christians do not need to learn the original languages of the Bible, Hebrew and Greek, 1 it is incredibly helpful to do so if you want to go deeper into the text. It has been compared to watching a film in black and white rather than in colour.
Yet we inevitably miss some of the richness of the original text when we read Scripture in translation.
Christians have always believed that God's word is heard through the Bible, not only heard in the original languages, but when it is translated.
